Project Details

Boulder, in the State of Colorado is located at the base of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 5430 feet (1655 m). It's close proximity to this mountain chain puts it in range of flooding during the spring when the mountain snows begin to melt.

The restaurant KFC was making a major investment in a new flag ship store in the town and wished to incorporate a solution to the problem of flash flooding at the design stage.


The restaurant is situated on the corner of 15th Street and has two main customer entrances which were protected by two, 2m Self Closing Flood Barriers.
